For the Non–governmental Organizations Centre, we have created a campaign titled “The Truth is in the Eye of the Beholder”. Mental disorder prejudices only hold true, if you believe in them.
The purpose of the non–governmental organizations campaign, financed by the FIHO foundation, is to increase social awareness and understanding of mental health. What we do not know, we usually do not understand. And, as for many other things, we tend to create our own misconceptions or distorted truths about mental disorders.
The limits of our mind are the limits of our truth. For this very reason, non–governmental organizations — Altra, Novi Paradoks, Šent, Ozara, Vez and Humana — wish to increase social awareness and understanding of mental health (or disorders) through this campaign. What we do not know, we usually do not understand. And, as for many other things, we tend to create our own misconceptions or distorted truths about mental disorders. The goal of the campaign is to motivate people to reconsider their conceptions of mental disorders. Only people themselves can discover that their conceptions may merely be a figment of their own imagination.
The campaign was launched at Citylight and Tam–Tam poster sites, web sites and on Facebook, where we enabled visitors to distort their images, thus stressing the fact that “The Truth is in the Eye of the Beholder” even more.
